This resonated exhaust includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust however, is also available as a non-resonated version (excluding the centre silencer) which is a louder option. This non-resonated exhaust makes the system louder as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note. This exhaust however, is also available as a resonated version (including centre silencer) which is a quieter option. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. åÊ Press Release Cobra Sport are pleased to announce the launch of their performance exhaust systems for the BMW M135i (F20/F21) 3 & 5 Door. Designed and manufactured to uncompromising standard, Cobra Sport have matched performance improvements with re-defined sound to offer an exciting package for M135i owners. The Cobra Sport research and development team quickly made the decision to base the new performance exhaust systems for the BMW M135i on 3" (76.2mm) T304 stainless steel pipework. This pipework allows the engine to breathe and contributes to our aim for the largest natural performance improvements. Independent testing of the non resonated cat back system revealed impressive gains of +10bhp along with 16 lb ft of torque. The outstanding power results are complemented by a significant weight advantage with the Cobra Sport system weighing only 16.32kg giving a 20% decrease from the OEM weight of 20.38kg. Cobra Sport Sales Manager Matt Thomas commented "We're very excited about the release of the system for the M135i. The 3.0 litre engine has a fantastic reputation and our R&D team have been able to extract excellent power gains. The pick of the systems is the non resonated cat back exhaust, the sound is incredible with a beautiful pitch and tone. The sound from this system brought a local street to a standstill when out testing so I anticipate the systems to be a great success". The new systems for the M135i are based around a cat back configuration with the option for either a resonated or louder non resonated centre section. These cat back systems can be matched with a choice of replacement front pipe in the form of either a sports cat or a de-cat pipe to create the most dynamic sound track. The BMW M135i has an aggressive stance on the road with wide flared wheel arches matched with a smart but subtle body kit. This mandrel bent pipework allows the engine to breathe and contributes to the aim for the largest natural performance improvements. The new cat back exhausts offer a significant weight advantage with the Cobra Sport system weighing only 16.32kg giving a 21% decrease from the OEM weight of 20.75kg. The sound of the new Cobra Sport exhausts boast vastly improved tonal characteristics with the non resonated cat back exhaust offering a deeper more aggressive sound with an overall increase of +4.6dB to 86.8dB on the static 4,000rpm sound test. Within the cabin the redefined sound remains comfortable registering 81.6dB under full load. The new systems for the M140i are based around a cat back configuration with the option for either a resonated or louder non resonated centre section. These cat back systems can be matched with a choice of replacement front pipe options in the form of either a sports cat or a de-cat pipe to create the most dynamic sound track. Testing of the standard M140i revealed power figures of 327 whp and 367 lbft. Working in conjunction with one of our tuning partners AET Motorsport, we installed the Cobra Sport turbo back system (with de-cat) on the AET Motorsport development car and ran further power testing. With the Cobra Exhaust installed, the M140i recorded 349.2 whp and 389.9 lb-ft, an increase of 22 whp and 23 lb-ft with a fantastic sound track to match. Taking this one step further, AET installed Burger Motorsport JB4 and the EWG loom and ran dyno power runs on map 1,2 and 5. The best results were seen to be on Map 5 where the BMW M140i produced 423 whp and 453 lb-ft this means an overall increase of 96 whp and 86 lb-ft over the stock vehicle. These slip-on 3.5" (88.9mm) exhaust tips have been specially designed as a direct replacement to fit the full range of F chassis BMWs. The tips have a larger than standard diameter of 3.5", substantially enhancing the looks of the existing BMW exhaust. The stock BMW tailpipes are prone to rust after a period of time, the premium materials used in these replacement tips eradicate these issues. The slip-on design make these replacement tailpipes quick and easy to install. Please note: this item comes with a one year warranty.
